ALBANY EMPIRE TO HOST OPEN CALL FOR DANCE TEAM AUDITIONS
Scheduled for November 10
ALBANY, NY - The Albany Empire announce today that the team will be hosting an open call tryout on Sunday, November 10, 2019 for those interested in becoming a member of the Albany Empresses, Empire Dance Team. Auditions will be held at the Albany Capital Center at 55 Eagle Street, Albany NY 12207. Registration for the audition is at 8:30 a.m. and the audition begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. The auditions are open to high school graduates of at least 18 years of age with any dance experience.
The Dance Team is a pivotal part of the organization. They not only perform routines to entertain Empire fans at home games at the Times Union Center, but they represent the organization through appearances at team, community and partner events.
“The Albany Empresses are a multitalented group of women that are passionate about dance and dedicated to the Capital Region Community,” said Megan Grabowski, Choreographer and Head Coach of the Albany Empresses. “The Empresses did an excellent job of filling the arena this past Championship season with high energy entertainment. We hope to see a great turnout at our open call auditions this November and to continue growing the Albany Empire winning tradition!”
The Empire is seeking the top dance talent in the Capital Region! Participants will be taught a routine and do not need to prepare their own. Applicants will be judged on dance ability, appearance, personality and attitude. All are encouraged to audition. Once open auditions are concluded, the judge’s panel will narrow down their choices for the team. These remaining selections will undergo a two-day boot camp, and semi-finalist interviews, leading up to a final event when the 2019 team will be revealed.
Interested in signing up for the audition? A pre-registration fee of $20 can be applied at www.TheAlbanyEmpire.com/team/dancers/tryouts before Friday, November 2nd at 3 p.m. Registration after that day and time will require an application fee of $25 (cash or cashier’s check only). Dancers are required to wear two-piece dance wear, including midriff top, lycra shorts and appropriate footwear. Please arrive to the Albany Capital Center by 8:30 a.m. to register. The audition will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m.
