AFL FRONT OFFICE OF THE YEAR AWARD ANNOUNCED

Albany Empire Staff Recognized for Season’s Efforts

ALBANY, NY. – The Arena Football League today announced four awards in various support categories, recognizing groups and individuals who contributed to the League’s success in 2019. The Front Office Staff of the Year was awarded to the Albany Empire’s Front Office.

The Albany Empire received this award, in recognition of the entirety of the front office’s efforts. Such efforts include those of public relations; game entertainment; sponsorship; ticket sales; and football operations and management.

“It is an absolute honor to have our front office staff recognized by the Arena Football League for all their hard work and dedication.  When we decided that ‘Unfinished Business’ would be our motto for the 2019 season, it didn’t apply to just the on-field product, it also applied to the front office operations,” said George Manias, C.O.O. of the Albany Empire.  “When we launched our team last season, we only had four months to do so.  We laid a great foundation but knew we could do better given the time.  We reached and exceeded most of our goals for this year and it is great to be recognized for our efforts.”

Highlighted in the Empire’s front office accomplishments include leading the AFL in attendance and ticket sales for the second consecutive season, its commitment to community involvement, their in-game entertainment presentation, their social media platforms and fan engagement initiatives including a weekly radio and television show, and their ability to provide a first-class fan experience highlighted by its pre-game block parties. The organization prides itself on being the community’s team in the Capital Region and looks forward to potentially bringing the AFL championship back to Albany!

“My staff consists mostly of young professionals who are new to the workforce and seeing their development and growth over the past two seasons has been the most rewarding part of my job,” said Manias.  “I couldn’t be more appreciative of all they do for this organization and I am extremely proud of them.  Now we hope to cap off this extraordinary season with an ArenaBowl Championship.”
