ALBANY EMPIRE TO BRING BACK JUNIOR DANCE PROGRAM
Junior Empress Program to Begin in January
ALBANY, NY - The Albany Empire announce the return of the Junior Empresses Dance Program for the 2019 season. Interested dancers from ages 6-18 can audition on Sunday, January 20 at the Turning Pointe Dance Center in Latham. No dance experience is required.
The Junior Dance Team will give aspiring young dancers the professional dance experience! They will learn professional dance choreography from Albany Empress Head Choreographer, Megan Grabowski and Junior Empress Choreographer, Nicole Healey. In addition, members of the Albany Empire dance team, the Albany Empresses, will be at every practice mentoring the students. As part of this program, the Junior Empresses will perform at select Empire games during the 2019 season in front of thousands of fans at the Times Union Center.
“The Junior Empress program is an ideal way for these young dancers to receive professional dance experience,” said Healey. “The students will have the opportunity to work closely with professionals in the dance world and learn what it takes to be a dancer in professional sports!”
Not only will the participants of the Junior Empress program receive professional mentorship and choreography, they will also receive: professional style uniforms, headshots, and much more. Select dates for the Junior Empresses to perform on field at Empire games will be announced at a later time.
“The Albany Empire are proud to bring this program back and grow it even further,” said George Manias, Chief Operating Officer of the Albany Empire. “With this program, we get the opportunity to demonstrate that the Empire is not just about football, but also about how we interact with the community. The Junior Empresses program gives us the opportunity to appeal to families and young girls through the sport of football, while also giving them the ability to showcase their talents in front of thousands at our games.”
