ALBANY EMPIRE DEVELOP FRONT OFFICE TALENT FOR NFL
Empire Game Operations Manager Accepts Position with the Washington Redskins
ALBANY - The Albany Empire announce that Sara Biancosino, former Manager of Game Day Operations and Marketing, has received and accepted a position with the Washington Redskins of the National Football League. Biancosino spent the 2018 inaugural season behind the scenes mapping, planning and providing a world class entertainment experience for Empire fans.
Biancosino will assume a similar role as Game Entertainment Manager with the Redskins, working with a team to provide gameday entertainment throughout home games. The Redskins will play their first home game of the regular season on September 16 against the Indianapolis Colts.
“The entire Albany Empire organization couldn’t be more proud of Sara,” said George Manias, Vice President of Business Operations for the Albany Empire. “When we hired Sara right out of Saint Rose, we charged her with the task of giving our fans the best possible gameday experience. With little experience and little time, she delivered! Sara was a major factor in our inaugural seasons’ success.”
Biancosino was born and raised here in the Capital Region, hailing from Rotterdam. During her time at The College of Saint Rose, she had enrolled in the Music Industry program, before eventually working her way into the business world and graduating with a Business Administration/Marketing Degree. She spent the 2017 spring semester as an intern at the Times Union Center working in the marketing department for SMG.
“I am extremely excited and ready for this next step in my professional sports career with the Washington Redskins organization,” said Biancosino. “I cannot thank the Empire enough for preparing me for this opportunity, and I look forward to watching their future success as a great team and organization. I am grateful to everyone within the Empire organization and will use the tools that I learned during my time with the team to continue to advance my career!”
“As the only professional sports team in the region, we take pride in developing our staff and grooming them to become future leaders of the sports industry,” said Manias. “Sara embodied that in the short time she was with us and we wish her the best of luck in the NFL.”
