LAS VEGAS - The Arena Football League has announced the winners of the Front Office/Support Staff of the Year, Sports Medicine Team of the Year, Equipment Manager of the Year and Official of the Year.

Front Office/Support Staff of the Year: Philadelphia Soul

The Front Office/Support Staff of the Year award was given to the Philadelphia Soul. This award recognizes the entirety of the front office supports including: public relations, sponsorship, ticketing, football operations and management. Besides supporting their own club, Soul President John Adams and staff also aided in establishing the Albany Empire organization this season.

Sports Medicine Team of the Year: Albany Empire

The Sports Medicine Team of the Year recognizes team’s head athletic trainer Brett Allen for his injury management, communication skills, and leadership. Brett and his staff are valuable assets to their organization as they work tirelessly to ensure the safety and appropriate care for the Albany athletes.

Equipment Manager of the Year: Brandon Goldstein, Albany Empire

Brandon Goldstein just completed his first season with the Albany Empire as their equipment manager. Goldstein is responsible for every aspect of the Empire’s team needs; equipment requests for the team, point person for visiting teams when they arrive through their departure, game day operations, assistant to the head coach, football operations, and many other duties valued by Empire. 

Official of the Year: Jeff Carr

Jeff Carr will be completing his 18th season in the Arena Football League and will serve as the umpire in ArenaBowl XXXI. This is the second time in Carr’s AFL officiating career he has been the umpire for an ArenaBowl. 


The Arena Football League will enter its 31st Season in 2018. Since its inception in 1987, the Arena Football League has showcased a fast-paced and exciting game to millions of fans in a myriad of markets across the country. Teams slated for 2018 include: Albany, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. CBS Sports Network nationally broadcasts AFL games each week, culminating with the ArenaBowl.
