EMPIRE DECLARE "CODE ORANGE" FOR PLAYOFF GAME AGAINST VALOR
Albany Will Host Washington on Saturday, July 21
ALBANY - The Albany Empire have declared a “CODE ORANGE” for the team’s home playoff game against the Washington Valor. Albany will host Washington on in Game 2 of the first round playoff series on Saturday, July 21 at 7:30 pm at the Times Union Center. The game will be broadcast live nationally on CBS Sports Network and on the radio on Alt 105.7 fm.
When the Empire declare a “CODE ORANGE,” the team asks all fans in attendance at the game to wear the team’s primary color, orange. Empire players will wear the alternate home uniforms which features orange jerseys and pants.
The 2018 Empire Playoffs are presented by SEFCU. The first 5,000 fans at the home playoff game on July 21 will receive a special 2018 Playoff Rally Towel, sponsored by SEFCU.
“We are right where we want to be and won’t look back now,” said Rob Keefe, Head Coach of the Albany Empire. “Getting the top seed in the playoffs is a huge step for the organization’s inaugural season. Our fans have been a pivotal part of our success all year long and we need them to come out in full force for the ‘CODE ORANGE’ to give us a true home field advantage and help lift us to the ArenaBowl.”
The Empire declared a “CODE ORANGE” for their second home game, a Week 4 matchup against Washington. Over 10,000 fans showed up decked out in orange as Albany routed the Valor for the organization’s first ever victory.
“‘CODE ORANGE’ was a huge success and played a big role in our team’s first win of our inaugural season,” said George Manias, Vice President of Business Operations. “We want the Times Union Center to be louder than it has ever been before as we play our first ever playoff game in front of a sea of fans wearing orange!”
Saturday’s block party will begin at 3 pm and feature live music from cross generational band Cryin’ Out Loud. Fans can wear any orange shirt to show their support, and the team will have special “CODE ORANGE” shirts as well as playoff shirts available for purchase at merchandise stands at the block party and in the arena. “CODE ORANGE” shirts are available for pre-order online now for just $10 and the Playoff t-shirts will be $15.
The team will also host a Watch Party for Game 1 of the Playoff Series, which will be played in Washington DC on Saturday, July 14 at 7 pm. Details, including location of the Watch Party will be announced shortly. The Round 1 game in Washington will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.
