ALBANY EMPIRE TO HOST PLAYER TRYOUTS IN ORLANDO ON SATURDAY, MARCH 3

ALBANY, NY - The Albany Empire Arena Football Team will host an open tryout on March 3 at Faith Christian Academy, located at 9307 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, Florida 32825. Registration will begin at 8 a.m., stretching starting at 9 a.m. and the tryouts immediately thereafter.

In attendance will be; Head coach Rob Keefe, Director of Football Operations Chris Thompson, Assistant Coach Les Moss and the entire Albany Empire coaching staff.

"We are excited to offer an opportunity for players to showcase their talents before the season begins and take advantage of the talent in Florida," said Rob Keefe, Head Coach of the Albany Empire. "Florida, and the Central Florida area specifically, is a great place to find talent. Orlando has great weather in March and it will be a great destination city for players to travel to if they would like to be seen by our staff."

This will mark the second open player tryout hosted by the Albany Empire. Approximately 250 players showed up for the January 27 tryout in Clifton Park, NY. A select few were invited to a private tryout the day after for another look from the coaching staff. The tryout in Orlando will be a one-day event only.

A pre-registration fee of $65 can be applied using PayPal at www.TheAlbanyEmpire.com before Friday, March 2 at 3 p.m. Registration after that time and the day of will require an application fee of $80 (cash or cashier's check only). A t-shirt will be included in the cost and all fees are non-refundable.

Players will be tested on their 40-yard dash time and short shuttle with other position-specific drills and one-on-ones to follow. Testing will take place on a grass surface - please bring appropriate workout gear and shoes/cleats. The tryout will take place outdoors, rain or shine. All positions will be evaluated in tryouts- QB, WR, FB, DB, LB, DL & OL and K. A trainer will be on hand for emergencies only - not for player taping.

"We want to offer another chance for potential players to showcase their skills," said Keefe. "We are building a great team and no stone will be left unturned. If you think you have what it takes to play professional football at a high level, then you need to get in front of us."
